TATUNG ANNOUNCES NEW FAMILY OF HIGH PERFORMANCE
DUAL NEW INTEL® XEON EM64T (NOCONA) SERVERS FOR RACKMOUNT ENVIRONMENTS

2nd., 2004 – Tatung Science & Technology, Inc. (TSTI™),
is introducing a new family of rackmount servers, targeting the high-end
market for PC application, scientific and engineering, web-based applications,
E-commerce servers, internet game servers, and clustering environments.
Two models, including 1U and 2U form factor systems, support up to two
new Intel® Xeon processors (formerly code-named Nocona) running
at 2.8 GHz or higher, featuring an 800MHz front side Bus, PCI Express,
Intel ® Extended Memory 64 Technology (EM64T), and a variety of
high performance peripheral device options. The new Intel Extended Memory
64 Technology enables 64-bit memory addressability for greater application
flexibility while preserving the investment in 32-bit application.
Space-Saving Rack-Optimized IU and 2U Form Factors
The model TS- 1551 server is a 1U system, requiring the least amount
of rackmount space without compromising performance or expandability
of components. The system includes dual new Intel® Xeon processors,
rated at 2.8 GHz or higher, with 1MB of level 2 cache. It features Front
Side Bus speeds of 800 MHz; 450 watt or higher power supplies and support
for 3.5 inch front-mounted hot-swap drives. The TS-1551 features up
to 24GB of ECC DDR266/12 GB of DDR333 memory, a slim floppy disk and
slim CD-ROM drive; two PCI expansion slots (one PCI Express optional)
; RAID and Ethernet support. The TS-1551 includes an Adaptec AIC-7902W
dual channel Ultra 320 SCSI controller; three hot-swap 3.5 inch Ultra
320 SCSI hard disk drives; and one 64-bit, 66MHz SO-DIMM for the Adaptec
ZCR, with optional support for RAID levels 0, 1 and 5. The system also
includes Intel 82546EB gigabit ethernet LAN controllers, ATI Ragetm
XL graphics controllers with onboard 8MB frame buffers; and bus master
IDE ports supporting ATA-100.
The TS-2552 is a 2U server, also featuring single or dual new Intel®
Xeon processors rated at 2.8 GHz or higher, with 1MB of level 2 cache
and up to 24 GB of ECC DDR266/12 GB of DDR333 memory. It features Front
Side Bus speeds of 800 MHz; a 550 watt single or redundant (1 + 1) power
supply and six PCI expansion slots (including one PCI Express slot).
TS- 2552 also includes an Adaptec AIC-7902W dual channel ultra 320 SCSI
controller; eight hot-swap 3.5 inch ultra 320 SCSI hard disk drives;
and one 64-bit, 66 MHz SO-DIMM for Adaptec ZCR with optional support
for RAID levels 0, 1, and 5; Intel 82546EB gigabit ethernet LAN controllers;
ATI Rage XL graphics controllers with onboard 8 MB frame buffers; and
bus master IDE ports supporting ATA-100.
The new Intel processor-based platform, which features an advanced Intel
Xeon processor and a significantly more powerful chipset, boosts performance
by up to 30 percent over previous generations. The new platforms also
help reduce power consumption and total cost of ownership.

Tatung Blade Server family
Tatung is also shipping a family of award winning Ultra Dense Blade
Servers which deliver the highest density, high performance, low power
consumption, and highest manageability of any ultra dense platform Today.
TUD-4010 accommodates 10 dual Xeon processor PCI-X server blades, supporting
up to 200 Intel Xeon processors servers per 42U rack while TUD-3114
accommodates 14 single Intel Xeon processor, supporting up to 196 servers
per 42U rack. Completely modular with hot-swappable components including
multiple server blades, redundant switch blades, management blades,
power supplies and fan modules, the systems offer built-in high availability,
scalability, flexibility, serviceability and manageability, all with
low power consumption. Both systems are bundled with Amphus ManageSite
2.3™, a management software suite which supports lights out and
remote management, fast and automatic provisioning and task management.
The highly integrated systems will help to reduce total cost of ownership
(TCO) and increase server utilization and operational efficiencies for
data center applications.
